Cranberry Daquiri

Cranberry Daquiri’s have been a holiday tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. My Grandpa Hal Valentine had quite a knack for concocting tasty drinks, and we believe that he created this recipe. I have very fond memories of playing bartender for him and preparing a tasty rum drink that called for lemon/limeade and soda water every Sunday as we watched Lawrence Welk, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, and the Wonderful World of Disney.

Daquiri prurists may scoff at the use of limeade rather than real limes, but those of you who are so inclined can substitute real lime juice and sugar for limeade. The rest of us will happily use the little frozen cans!

In a blender combine
 one can of frozen limeade,
the same amount of rum,
and about two thirds of a can of whole cranberry sauce
(You can adjust amount to suit your own taste)..
Add enough ice to almost fill the blender.
Add the juice of one fresh lime, if you prefer them a little tart.
Blend, pour and enjoy!
