Christmas and New Years just hadn’t seemed the same since we moved from California and could no longer find our cherished Tom & Jerry mix to make up some tasty hot toddys. It was only this year, with the
year 2000 approaching, that Bob was able to find a recipe that matches, if not exceeds, the Trader Vic’s Tom & Jerry mix. Our life is full again thanks to Hotel Lenado in Aspen, Colorado who had this taste
treat posted on the web.
1 oz. rum 1 oz brandy 3/4 cup hot water 1 generous dollop sugar mixture
Sugar Mixture: 4 egg whites 4 egg yolks 5 to 6 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp cloves
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add powdered sugar and spices mixing slowly. Beat egg yolks in separate bowl and fold into mixture. In decorative mug, add rum, brandy, 1 large dollop of sugar mixture and hot water
